Papertrey Anniversary - Freebie Downloads

Hi All,

Today is Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink Anniversary festivites and today Nichole challenged everyone to make a project using one of the amazing free downloads that are available on her blog. (If you haven't snagged them yet, do it!)

I decided in the adorable "LOVE" image designed by Melissa Bickford. I was instantly drawn to the fun, bright colors and couldn't wait to try it out.

This card was super easy and super quick to make. I cut four strips of cardstock to coordinate with each of the letters, layered the image on top, added a few little hearts using the Heart Prints stamp set and voila!

I can't wait to see what the challenge for tomorrow is!

And now, considering I'm supposed to be studying and not crafting, I'd better hit the books. Thanks for stopping by!

PTI Anniversary - My Favorite Things Challenge

Hey Peeps!

Soooo, eight months since my last post? That's not too bad right? One of my goals this year was to get back on track with keeping the blog-o current (you can see how well the first month went). Luckily, February is Papertrey Ink's anniversary month and they always have amazing contests going on so it's helped me get going a bit.

Today's post from Nichole had some fun little bits of information about the Design Team members including each of their top 5 Papertrey products and their favorite project from 2011. She then challenged us to create a new project inspired by one of the DT member's favorite projects. The card I used for inspiration was a fabulous card made by Jessica Witty. I love the clean, simple design and the fresh feel the card has.

So here's what I came up with:

(As you can also see, I still haven't managed to get a real camera in the past eight months so I'm still using my phone and have to make do with whatever lighting I have so sorry for the shadows on this pic)

I used a card base of Rustic White and stamped a few images from Turning a New Leaf is Aqua Mist ink. I then die cut and stamped the frame image from Simply Jane (which is officially my new favorite set) using Autumn Rose paper and ink and layered it over a bit of Kraft that I stamped with a text background in Dark Chocolate ink. The cameo was die cut from Aqua Mist paper and I used the tiny bow stamp to make a necklace.

Well, I've got tons on the "To Do" list today so I'd better get at it! Brian and I are taking a trip to "Fancy Fry's" today during the Super Bowl in hopes that it won't be too busy. ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Card Camp - Week 2 Color Combo

Happy Sunday!

Well I finally had time this weekend to get caught up on all of crafty goodness that is Summer Card Camp 2011! I even had time to get the craft room unpacked and make a card. ;)

I was so excited when I saw this week's color combo. The fresh, juicy colors were just begging to be turned into a fun summer card! Here's my take on it...

I was actually inspired enough to drag out some old Stampin' Up stamps that I honestly have never used. The paper is from Bazzill and Papertrey Ink, brad is from Bazzill, and the ink is from Papertrey Ink and Versamark.

Alright, time to go grab dinner out of the oven! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week peeps!

PTI's Make It Monday - Part 2

Hey Everyone,

Well, I guess one good part about being sick as a dog and home from work this week is that I was able to craft a little (a very little). So, I decided to make another card using the rock and roll technique featured in this week's Make It Monday video from Papertrey Ink.

I started with a kraft base and used this week's technique to stamp images from the My Hero, My Dad and Grunge Me stamp sets. I was very happy with how the Orange Zest and Pure Poppy inks complimented one another! Then, I layered on a bit of Pure Poppy cardstock and some more kraft and stamped my little heart out. I love these stamp sets because they make layering practically fool-proof! Finally, I stamped the sentiments and colored them in with a Copic marker.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

PTI's Make It Monday

Hi All,

Here's a quick card I made using this week's Make It Monday technique. I was also inspired by Nichole Heady's idea to use the Flower Fusion sets for making background paper. All materials are from Papertrey Ink except for the ribbon which is from Bazzill. Enjoy!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

February Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Happy Friday friends!

Wow, what a week! I just wanted to pop in really quick and share the card that I made for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

"This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops! We want to see your best use of scallops,of any sort, on a project! This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops, scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up! You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look. We are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing creations!"

I knew for sure that I wanted to use doilies and the Limitless Layers Die set and I had some adorable cupcake embellies that my sister had given me that I wanted to play with too. Of course, I knew I had to add in some polka dots. So, here's what came out of it! (Again, please excuse the photo, I'm still having to use the camera on my phone to take all pictures)

Thanks so much for stopping by! So far I've just peeked at the thumbnails of all the projects, (it was a long day at work and I think I'll be calling it an early evening) but I definitely plan on spending a good part of tomorrow morning taking a closer look! I can already tell there are some AMAZING projects out there!

Have a FABULOUS weekend!

Make it Monday Challenge #3

Hey Everyone!

Yes, I am alive! This three-day weekend was MUCH needed to get caught up on some housekeeping and crafting. I've been dying to join in on PTI's Make it Monday Challenges and now I've actually had time to play along. First off, I apologize for the photos. The Nikon was sent off for cleaning and repair and we're still waiting to get it back. Additionally, the point and shoot camera is nowhere to be found so I'm left with the camera on my phone. I tried to take the photos in the best natural light, but the colors still vary a bit from photo to photo so I apologize.

In this week's video, Dawn McVey showed an easy little trick to add some major glitz to any card by using Scor-tape and glitter. I'm not saying that this was the ONLY reason I made Brian stop at Hobby Lobby while we were out and about earlier today, but...well...maybe it was.

After making a 4x4 card base out of Rustic White cardstock, I used Martha Stewarts Crafts glitter to add two strips of glitter to Pure Poppy cardstock along with a strip of Aqua Mist cardstock.

Then I stamped the "FABULOUS" sentiment from Say It With Style in Dark Chocolate ink. Don't you just love how sparkly it all is!

I used the dress form die to make another little embellishment and stamped it with one of the images from Damask Designs and popped on an Aqua Mist button. I topped the whole thing off with some ribbon and faux pearls just to make sure I had enough girly touches on it! :-)

I certainly got a lot of crafting done this weekend so keep your eyes open for a few more posts this week, plus PTI's Blog Hop on the 25th! I hope you all had a great weekend (and a fabulous Monday if it wasn't a holiday for you) and thanks for stopping by!
